Portman Road’s North Stand will be closed for the remainder of the season after it was discovered that the stand is subsiding.
The stand, completed in 2002 houses a number of large water tanks, used by Town's ground staff to water the pitch, the tanks automatically refill and it is believed one of these tanks had started leaking causing damage to the stands foundations resulting in the stand sinking backwards towards Sir Alf Ramsey way.
Contractors will be under pinning the stand from the middle of this month until early summer, the work should be completed in time for any planned concert at Portman Road during the summer and pre-season.
Season ticket holders and fans who have brought tickets for games in the North Stand will be getting a letter from the club this week detailing their seats for Town's remaining home games (Doncaster, Norwich and Coventry).
