Williams Attacks Jim?

Bristol City and former Town midfielder Gavin Williams has launched an attack on Town manager Jim Magilton, ahead of today’s game between Town and Bristol City.

Williams: "Ipswich have under-achieved this season. They've spent a lot of money and before the season started I really fancied them to do well.

"I've got a lot of mates in Ipswich so I've kept in touch with what's going on and I know Jim Magilton has been getting a lot of stick.

"Rightly so because he's spent so much money. I don't think there are many clubs in the division who spent as much as Ipswich.

"They should be challenging for automatic promotion, let alone the play-offs.

"When you've spent the money Ipswich have spent it raises the expectation levels among the fans and the team have failed to deliver.

"This was a big season for Jim Magilton. He spent a lot of money and they've not made the play-offs so the fans are on his back.

"The fact the manager has had a lot of money to spend hasn't helped. They should have been challenging for the play-offs.

"They've never really been play-off contenders and it will be interesting to see what happens there in the summer."

That looks like a rant. He says the same thing over and over! Might well be right though. (Sm16)
