Bruce Signs New Deal

Town defender Alex Bruce has signed a new two year contract that will extend his stay at Portman Road until the summer of 2011.
The 24-year-old had looked to be on the way out of Portman Road after rejecting a new contract offer from the then Town manager Jim Magilton, but Bruce is happy to accept the deal offered to him by the club after speaking to Roy Keane and Simon Clegg.
Bruce: "The aim is clear, to get Ipswich Town back in the Premier League. That is why I came here in the first place.
"It is a new regime and the owner clearly has made a statement of intent of his ambitions for Ipswich Town by bringing in someone like Roy Keane to be manager here.
"I never wanted to leave the club and it was always my hope that a deal could be sorted.
"I sat down and spoke with the manager and Simon and liked their ideas and plans for the club.
"It is an exciting time for the club and I'm delighted to be part of it."
Town manager Roy Keane added: "I told Alex I was keen for him top stay at the club.
"He made it clear he wanted to stay so it was down to trying to sort out a deal and I'm delighted we have achieved that."
