In the running to be next Ipswich Manager is....

Steve McClaren is the shock front runner to take the place of Roy Keane it has been reported in the press today.

chief executive at Ipswich Simon Clegg said last week that Keane is not leaving though Ipswich have  failed to register a win in the opening 11 Championship games of the seson.

While Clegg is still backing Keane, the Ipswich owners Marcus Evans are not as happy and have mation that the former England manager Steve McClaren who is manager  now with Holland's FC Twente has been talked at broadroom level at Ipswich.

What do you think? Could he change Ipswich? or do we need someone else?

One thing is for sure - since RK became manager we continually make news - whether it be for on the field dross or off field antics - RK gets Ipswich mentioned much more than ever before - am sure ME doesn't mind all that publicity!

If it's one thing Evans don't need it's publicity. There's no way McClaren gets the nod. More thought needed if Roy goes. (Sm17)

i dpn't know what you lot are moaning about,if its true its a positive move , for starters aleast he does'nt walk away, knows how to play the passing game, did it better at club level than roy, even though he did'nt at international level and has more experience at being a manager. can and has got more clout with getting and inspiring players and is'nt arrogant either and take it on the chin. whats roy got, sweet f.a experience, a bad attitude, no clue what and how to do things with players.

Changing our Manager at this point in the season is a big mistake! Any new guy would want to change the team, bring in his own players etc etc - we have to stick with Keane!

Read somewhere the next 6 games are against lower half of the league teams - in that case 6 wins is what is required - especially as 4 games are at home - imaging the turnaround in our position if that happened - ok, I can dream!
