Garvan Thought Of Leaving

Town midfielder Owen Garvan says the idea of leaving Town has briefly crossed his mind this season after falling away from the first team picture at times.

The 22-year-old midfielder has featured in just over half of Town's games this season and that has been enough for the idea of leaving Town to cross his mind, but it soon goes again.

Garvan: "It's crossed my mind about moving on, but that's all.

"After each season I am the sort of person who looks back over the previous nine months.

"So I'll sit down in the summer and reflect on how it's gone.

"I have an appetite to do well for Ipswich Town and want to be a success as a footballer.

"Things chance so quickly in this game.

"When you're not playing there's no point putting your head down.

"There's no point talking about it. You have to work hard in the knowledge that you chance will come again.

"And when it does you have to take it.

"The manager picks what he considers to be his best team and everybody wants to be in it. But you know that if you are not there is still hope for everybody.

"I want to win football games. It is in the 90 minutes that are most important.

"If you and the team do well you can go home happy and content - ring your family, watch a DVD, sleep well.

"It had been a while before I played on Tuesday, and I lasted 90 minutes, which was good.

"Hopefully I did enough and like every other player I want to be on the team sheet for the Scunthorpe game."
