Report: Watford 2-1 Town

Town slipped back towards the relegation zone following a 2-1 defeat against Watford last night. Town manager Roy Keane was far from impressed.

Town started badly, going behind after just 7 minutes following a 35-yard free-kick from Henri Lansbury flew into the back of the net.

Town were nothing sort of awful early on, so much Roy Keane made a change after 23 minutes, Owen Garvan going off to be replaced by Lee Martin.

Town improved in the second half, scoring an equaliser in the 67th minute when Jack Colback was on hand to fire home after Watford failed to clear a corner.

Will Hoskins put Watford back in front, Gareth McAuley didn't get enough of a touch on the ball to stop it going through to Hoskins who fired in from the edge of the box.

Town manager Roy Keane: "They'll be changes for Saturday, you can bet on that, it just shows what a big, big job I have ahead of me.

"The two wins of the last week mean nothing, absolutely nothing. It looked as though we thought we could just turn up here and win the game. It was criminal.

"Watford wanted to win more than us, and that's very difficult for me to swallow.

"I'm not happy. We had a dreadful start, kicking the ball out of play after just a few seconds, and that set the tone for the night.

"We got better in the second half, but the game started at a quarter-to-eight, not at half-time.

"We were shocking, and I'd have taken four or five of my players off, if the rules had allowed more than three substitutions.

"It was rubbish, to start playing an hour late. This has been a hard one to take. My players must do better, but hopefully I'll have calmed down by Saturday,"
