Town Tracking Hooper?

Town are reportedly keeping an eye on Scunthorpe United striker Gary Hooper, who could be sold by Scunthorpe this summer.

Hooper has scored 47 goals since joining Scunthorpe from Southend United in the summer of 2008 for £175,000 and has a year left on his contract at Glanford Park and could Town about £1 million.

Scunthorpe boss Adkins said: "Billy Sharp and Martin Paterson moved on for big money and Gary Hooper is the next logical one

"We are trying to be a developmental club where we allow players to come in, develop and move on to bigger and better things for a decent fee."

Hooper himself is pleased to be linked with other clubs, saying: "It's an eye opener when a big club shows interest in you.

"But I've got another year of my contract and I'm very much a Scunthorpe player."

Hooper has also been linked with Leeds United, QPR and Derby County. It has been reported that Town had Hooper watched when he scored a hat-trick for Scunthorpe at the weekend.
