Keane: We’ve Rejected Offers

Town manager Roy Keane says he has rejected offers for what he calls “our most important players”.

This summer has seen Connor Wickham linked with Tottenham and Sunderland, while Jon Walters has been linked with Wigan and Stoke and Gareth McAuley has been linked with Bolton.

Keane: "We have had a number of phone calls and one or two offers for, what I would class as, our most important players who we have no interest in letting go.

"Connor is very much one for the future and we believe he is going to be a top, top player.

"He had a very good end to the season, even away with England [U17s], and Connor is very much part of our plans.

"From the Club and the owner's point of view, we are under no pressure to sell him. That is good news for everyone because we need players like Connor to produce next year if we are going to have a successful season."
