Lisbie: i Want Out

Town striker Kevin Lisbie says he does not want to be playing his football at Portman Road next season and has hinted he has had offers from elsewhere.

Lisbie joined Town for £600,000 in the summer of 2008 after scoring 17 goals for Colchester in the 2007/2008 season, his season at Portman Road was much less successful, scoring just 6 times in 41 games, which lead to him being loaned out to Colchester again last season.

Lisbie: "I have not had a phone call from Ipswich Town, so I'm not sure what's happening with pre-season yet, however, the manager (Keane) has already told me that he doesn't me to play for him again, and that still stands. I don't want to be somewhere I am not wanted.

"I guess I'll get a call before the (June) 28th, when pre-season starts, but I'm 95% sure that I won't be at Ipswich for next season. There's no incentive for me, or the club, to stay put.

"We'll have to wait and see. As yet, I'm not sure where I will be, but I don't want to waste a whole year not playing football, not at my age. I don't want people to start losing interest in me by not playing. I need to be playing next season.

"I've already had about 50 agents ring me this summer, from all sorts of clubs, but that's not that surprising. That's agents for you,

"I'd like to be playing in the Championship.

"Beggars can't be choosers, but I'd like to play for another club in the Championship.

"And I would like to get myself sorted out soon, because I'd like to do a proper pre-season at a club. But I can't see me being welcomed back by Ipswich. I think the manager's view of me is more personal than a purely football thing.

"I want to be happy right now, and I don't think it will be possible for me to be happy playing for Ipswich with this manager,"
