Stead Rejects Bristol Switch

Town striker Jon Stead has rejected the chance to move to Bristol City after holding talks with Town’s Championship rivals.

The 27-year-old fell out of favour at Portman Road last season and ended the campaign on-loan at Coventry City, a move that was expected to become permanent during the summer but that move fell through when Chris Coleman was sacked at the Sky Blues.

Town accepted a £200,000 bid for Stead who had also been linked with a return to Huddersfield Town.
