Keane: Walters Will Never Play For Me

Town manager Roy Keane says Jon Walters will not be playing for Town while he is still in charge at Portman Road.

Walters was dropped from the Town squad for today's game against Burnley and has lost the club captaincy to David Norris.

Keane: "If a players desire is to leave the club then I don't think he should be captain of the team. I still intended to play Jon in my team on Friday morning, but after his reaction I decided to leave him out.

"Jon Walters will not play for this club again as long as I am here. He is finished with me. It was not a ruck but more an exchange of views, which is the posh way of saying things"

Keane also revealed a second club had come in for Walters, adding: "We had another bid from a club on Friday, everyone keeps talking about Stoke but another club has made an offer and we are in talks."

Well it will be shame to see Walters go and I do feel that Keane had handled this badly (by coming public with it) but I don't think we will miss him for this season as that Townsend lad looks good, Leadbitter seems to have the the free-kicks not far off and there is Civelli to come back.
