Town secured another three points with 2-1 win against George Burley’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park yesterday.
Town took the lead in the 51st minute when Jon Stead, playing would could be his last Town game, was pulled down by Claude Davis, Town were awarded a penalty and Davis shown a red card. Grant Leadbitter stepped up for the kick and converted it to give Town the lead.
Town doubled their lead 5 minutes later, a low Leadbitter cross was met by Carlos Edwards, who slid in and put the ball into the net.
Town were reduced to 10 men as well with just under 20 minutes left to play, Andros Townsend shown a straight red for a high foot against Speroni.
Neil Danns scored a consolation goal for the home side in stoppage time, heading over Town ‘keeper Marton Fulop.
