A Statement From Evans

Town owner Marcus Evans says he is still committed to taking Town back to the Premier League.
The statement reads: I remain as committed to Ipswich Town now as I did when I first became involved with the club over three years ago and the target remains the same – to take ITFC back to where it belongs – the Premier League.
No one ever said that was going to be easy and we've had more disappointments than successes along the way. But as I have soon discovered – that is football.
I have always looked long term as a businessman and that's certainly the case at Ipswich Town as well. Not only is it important to take this club back into the Premier League but we have to lay the foundations to keep the club in the Premier League.
These foundations are firmly in place, the club is financially as strong as it has ever been and able to compete on a level playing field with the biggest in our league.
Our training facilities are first class and are easily capable of stepping up to the challenges of the Premiership and our Academy continues to develop a regular batch of highly-gifted youngsters.
On the pitch it was only six matches ago that we were sitting nicely in the top six of the Championship. However, since then, despite reaching the Carling Cup semi-final for only the fourth time in our history, our league form has seen us drop to 18th.
We all know that this needs to turn around quickly and we need to see a return to our early campaign form if we are to end the season, which is still not halfway through, in a position to which everyone aspires.
