Blackburn Rovers defender Pascal Chimbonda is reportedly on the verge of joining Town after pulling out of a move to QPR.
The 31-year-old Frenchman can play anywhere across the back four and was brought into current Town manager Paul Jewell when he was at Wigan.
He started his career Le Havre where he made 85 starts, he moved to Bastia in 2003 and stayed until 2005 when he moved Wigan Athletic, after just one year at Wigan he was sold to Tottenham for £4.5 million, two years later he was sold to Sunderland only to return to Spurs six months later in January 2009, he was sold again in the summer of 2009 to Blackburn Rovers signing a two-year deal.
Chimbonda looks almost certain to leave Ewood Park this month after being forced to train away from the rest of the Blackburn squad.
