Ipswich Town midfielder Tommy Miller could play against Sunderland on Sunday after scans revealed there is no break in his elbow.

Miller was replaced soon after half time by Dean Bowditch after sustaining a heavy knock to his elbow and there was fears of a break, but Town physio Dave Williams has confirmed that the injury is not as serious as that.

Williams: “He's had scans and there is no clear break. It's a case of bone bruising more than anything else.

“He has certainly had a fair whack on the elbow and has extensive swelling at the moment.

“He can't bend his arm and until he can do that then he won't be in any position to play but we have a week to get him right and we will see how it goes.

“At the moment he has to be doubtful for Sunday but it's certainly too early to rule him out.”
