Former Ipswich Town chief executive Howard Wells is to become the Irish football associations first chief executive.

Wells, a goalkeeper with Wycombe Wanderers during his playing days and former chief exec at Watford and Town and chairman of UK sport, will be unveiled at a press conference in Belfast tomorrow.

Wells will become the first person to hold this post as it was only recently created as part of the reorganisation of Northern Ireland football under the government's soccer strategy.
