Ipswich Town midfielder Jim Magilton has been linked with the vacant managerial job at League Two side Oxford United.

The 35 year old midfielder spent four years at the Manor Ground and has been linked with the job at Oxford’s new home, The Kassam Stadium after the departure of Graham Rix, but Jim has had no official from Oxford it is a job he would like.

Jim: “I'm in the dark about Oxford really.

“I've heard little bits and pieces linking me with a player-manager role there but we'll have to wait and see whether there's anything in it.

“Oxford is a club that is very close to my heart. I had four good years at the Manor and I've still got a lot of friends there so we will have to see what happens.

“If an offer came along I'd have to think long and hard about it but there's no point in speculating at this stage.

“I'm fully committed to the cause at Ipswich and everyone knows what I think about this Club but there are so many people in football who are out of work that when an opportunity comes along you have to give it serious thought.”
