Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent has issued a challenge to his strike partner Shefki Kuqi to out score him this season.

Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent has issued a challenge to his strike partner Shefki Kuqi to out score him this season.

Both players are on 10 goals for the season and Bent intends to stop Kuqi getting ahead of him and has thrown the down the gauntlet, saying: “Shefki will have to go some to beat me to the top of our scoring chart.

“He is having a wonderful season and the more goals he scores the better it is for the club. And the better for me as well as it will spur me on.

“To be honest our partnership didn't really work as we would have liked last season. But this time we've clicked, and if we can keep pressing each other so much the better and I will help him as much as I can.

“And I know he will help me, but the most important thing is that Ipswich gain promotion, and to that end the more goals we score between us the better.”
