Ipswich Town defender Fabian Wilnis insists he does not feel 34 and believes his age is only on a piece of paper.

Wilnis who is one of 8 Ipswich players out of contract in the summer thought he wouldn’t get another chance at the Premiership after Towns play-off defeat against West Ham last may now feels he has been given at least one more chance.

Wilnis: “When we lost to West Ham none of us knew what the future held.

“We hadn't been offered contracts and at the time I felt my last chance to go back to the Premiership had passed.

“But I couldn't be more optimistic than I am now as we are second in the Championship with a home game against leaders Wigan next week.

“I've been doing extra work and feel sharp and my fitness has improved. I don't feel 34, I don't think I look 34 and the way I feel I don't even think I am 34. It's just on paper.”
