Ipswich Town skipper Jim Magilton says he would like to go a little way in the FA cup this year as long its not at the expense of the league.

Town play Bolton in the 3rd round on Saturday, Wanderers fan will probably best remember Jim for his hat-trick in the 2000 play-off semi final second leg.

Jim feels that game will be bought up a few more times before the weekend, saying: “I'm sure that game will be mentioned once or twice before the weekend and obviously it was very special for me.

“It took us to Wembley and eventually promotion to the Premiership and provided the players and supporters with a fantastic day out at the Play-Off Final.”

Jim went on to add: “My record is not the best in the FA Cup. I think the longest run I've had is to the Quarter-Finals so it would be great this year to enjoy some success in the competition.

“I grew up dreaming of playing in the Cup Final and to walk out at the Millennium Stadium would be something special.

“Obviously promotion is the main aim for us this year but there is no reason why we can't have a good Cup run as well and you never know in football what can happen. Remember Millwall reached the Final last year.”

Town fans who fancy Town to go one better than Millwall last season can get odds of 125/1 in some places.
