Waterford United and Irish under 21 striker Darryl Murphy is confident he can do enough during his second trial at Portman Road to earn a contract.

The 21-year-old was on a weeks trial at Portman Road just before Christmas but after picking up a groin strain while training with Town he was sent back to Ireland with out a contract.

Murphy will return to England when he has recovered and have a second trial at Town and he is confident he can get a deal, saying: “As soon as I get fit they will organise for me to go back ... They want to see me again and I am looking forward to going back. Everything was top drawer over there. It’s a high standard but all I was missing was a bit of sharpness. If I go over fit, I’d be very confident.”
