Ipswich Town Academy director believes Towns youngsters deserve their place in the FA Youth Cup fifth round.

Towns youngsters booked their place in the fifth round after beating the Stoke City youngsters 2-1 last night.

Klug: “We knew it would be a tough game and it was certainly that, it was a clash of styles in many ways and Stoke never gave in but we edged it and deservedly so.

“It wasn't a pretty game and we had to defend at times but I was pleased with that aspect of our play.

“We created the clearer chances, played some decent football at times and should have had at least one penalty, while there was all sorts going on for their goal but the boys came through in the end.

“Liam kept his head well for the penalty and there were some good individual performances from a few of the boys in what is another learning curve for them all.”
