“If Coventry had played like that all season then my old mate Peter Reid might still be in a job, they went out there and really played for Adrian Heath and they will probably feel they deserved something from the game.

“That said and we might not have been at our best but we still scored three goals and it might have been more at the end.

“Shefki had his usual mix of a game, took his chance clinically for the winner yet missed from seven inches at the end but he never stopped working and the players were delighted that he got the vital goal after the big man gave away the penalty.

“The spirit within the squad is fantastic. When the players celebrate, it's not concocted in any way. It's genuine friendship and you get that sometimes when you have a small squad.”
