Deano To Start?
Ipswich Town striker Dean Bowditch could be inline to make only his 14th Town start if Darren Bent fails to over come a knock.
Dean who should be in action for the England under19 team later tonight against the Belgium under19 side, assuming he comes out of that with out any knocks he could well come into the Town starting 11 against Leicester City on Saturday.
Town manager Joe Royle has said: “I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that
young Dean doesn't come to any harm tonight.
“Darren is hoping to train
tomorrow, but at the moment he's still limping.
“His knee has been
tweaked from the impact of the blow and he has studs marks and
swelling.
“Of course, I'd like him to be fit. He and Shefki have done
well together and I would ideally like to face Leicester with my strike force
unchanged.
“If Darren doesn't make it, Dean will come in. We also have
Pablo Couñago, but while he did a little bit better in Monday's reserve game and
scored a goal, he's not ready to start for the first team.
“I am also
aware that Darren Currie can play as a striker, but I have a lot of faith in
Deano, even if the goals haven't come the way we would have liked this
season.”
