Ipswich Town’s youth team have progressed to the quarter finals of the FA youth cup after beating Aston Villa’s youth side 3-1.

Ipswich Town’s youth team have progressed to the quarter finals of the FA youth cup after beating Aston Villa’s youth side 3-1.

A crowd of 1360 turned out to see the Town youngsters book a place in the FA Youth Cup quarter finals after beating last years beaten finalists.

The first of Town’s 3 goals came after 35 minutes when Liam Craig’s deflected shot went past the Villa keeper and into the net.

Soon after half time Town doubled their lead when Cathal Lordan poked home from inside the box and less than 10 minutes later Town had a third when Billy Clarke made the most out of mix up at he back for villa.

Villa grabbed a consolation goal with 15 minutes left but still lost 3-1 allowing Town to make the trip too Colchester United in the quarter final stage.
