Ipswich Town defender cum striker Richard Naylor believes he is still learning how to be a defender rather than a striker.

Who started his career as a defender before being moved up front under former Town manager George Burley has been selected primarily as a defender by current Town manager Joe Royle.

Naylor: “I'm still learning how to be a defender. I'm improving all the time. All players keep learning and when you think how little time I've spent at the back I've still got a way to go.

“I now consider myself to be a central defender, but I'm not the finished article by a long way. I really believe I can become a whole lot better.”
