Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent has been voted 3rd best player outside the premiership by survey carried out by FourFourTwo.

The survey was to find the best 50 players from the football league championship and leagues 1 & 2 and out all those players Darren Bent was voted third best behind Reading’s Steven Sidwell who topped the chat and Wigan’s Nathan Ellington.

FourFourTwo asked a number of players, supporters, sports journalists and managers for their opinion and both Ellington and Sidwell voted for Bent and Sidwell said: “He was my first choice. He's a young, athletic striker who scores goals and having played with him for the England U21s, I'm sure he would grace the Premiership.”

Darren Currie also made the top 50 slotting in at number 43.
