Reaction from Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle following Towns 1-0 win against Cardiff City last night.

Royle started off with special praise for midfielder Darren Currie who stood in for Jim Magilton, saying: “I thought Darren (Currie) was outstanding for us throughout the game, he pulled the strings in midfield and was running the game for long periods.

“Overall we had most of the play and I felt very comfortable - until Tommy scored from the penalty.

“We had one or two who switched off after that and that was disappointing because we let Cardiff back in the game in the last 15 minutes or so.

“They threw men forward and must have finished with seven in attack in the end and were launching long balls into the box.

“But the three lads at the back headed everything away and I can't really remember Kelvin having too much to do in the 90 minutes.

“It's a big three points for us, with Wigan and Sunderland both winning as well and a second successive clean sheet which is pretty rare for us so we've got no complaints.”
