Royle: We're Well Placed

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle insists Town’s league position isn’t as good as it was but it is still very strong position.

Town have managed just 7 points from their last 6 games and slipped from top of the championship to third 3 points behind Wigan and a further 2 behind Sunderland but Royle insists Town are still in a strong position.

Royle: “Our position isn't as strong as it was six games ago, perhaps, but it is still strong. I keep hearing the negative side, that we've only won two of our last seven games.

“But I make it three unbeaten, seven points from nine and a clean sheet in each of them, something we've never before done in my time at the club.

“We'd have settled for this at the start of the season and we are doing an awful lot better than a lot of people expected. We have already equalled our points tally from last season with seven games still to play. That shows how much we have improved.”
