Player Reaction: Town 3-2 Derby

Reaction from Ipswich Town trio Tommy Miller, Darren Bent and Richard Naylor following Town’s 3-2 over Derby County earlier today.

Tommy Miller: “Early on we were all over the shop and then we settled down. I didn't really have many chances today but I was pleased with my goal from the edge of the box, as soon as I hit it I knew it was going in. The skipper's goal was superb, he should get a lot more; in training he knows how to finish and we've been ribbing him a little about his lack of goals but we were all delighted that he scored - he's a top player. Jim is very important to the side, he's a voice out there and gets us playing. The front two covered an enormous amount of ground today and Benty was everywhere and Shefki always works his socks off. I was delighted with Benty's goal especially as it was me who fed him the ball!”

Darren Bent: “It was a great performance; Derby started off very sharp and I was thinking that I could see why they had such a great away record. We were flying after our first goal. Shefki covers an enormous amount of ground every week. The skipper was fantastic today and deserved his standing ovation when he came off. He's always inspirational when he's on the pitch. My goal caught me by surprise really, I didn't realise that I had so much time. Last week at the England U21 get-together, Lee Camp (Derby 'keeper) was telling me what Derby were going to do to us but during the game he said to me that he wished that he hadn't said anything.”

Richard Naylor: “They had a set formation where they break from midfield and it's worked well for them this season and we knew that they were going to do it but we couldn't quite get to grips with it in the first 20 minutes. After we got our first goal I felt that there was only one team that was going to win it. The second-half I felt we dominated. It was important for us to get back into the game and so Jim's goal was important for us; the skipper is everything to the side - he's exactly what Ipswich Town are about. He's massive around the dressing-room and he's massive in the Club - the lads look up to him. I was disappointed not to get onto the score sheet but there are going to be lots of twists and turns before the end of the season.”
