Currie Ready For Hammers

Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie believes Town will be ready for the play-off games against West Ham, with a little help from the fans.

Town finished the season with a 1-1 draw against Currie’s former club Brighton on Sunday which combined with Wigan’s 3-1 against Reading left Town facing the play-offs for a 7^th time, but Currie believes West Ham shouldn’t be a problem.

 

Currie: “It was nice to receive such a great reception from the Brighton fans but the end result is one of disappointment, we didn't play at the levels we are capable of and although it was irrelevant in the end because Wigan won, we are disappointed not to have finished off with a victory.

 

“We should have had at one definite penalty in the first-half when Benty was almost cut in half. Every player on the pitch thought it was a certain spot-kick and I felt we could have had another in the second-half as well.

 

“But we have to lift ourselves for the Play-Offs now. It's a second chance for us and I'm sure with the help of our magnificent fans we will be ready for West Ham, no problem.”
