Madrid Coming To Town?

Reports in the media are suggesting that Town are hoping to play Spanish side Atletico Madrid at Portman Road as part of their pre-season program.

Atletico finished 11^th in La Liga last season and made it to the semi finals of the Kings Cup but did not qualify for Europe which resulted in their coach being sacked. The new coach has been busy recently finalising the deal which took striker Mateja Kezman from Chelsea to Spain.

 

No date has been confirmed but it is believed Town want to play Atletico on the 30^th of July.

 

Town’s current pre-season line up looks like this:

Wed 13 Jul -7.45pm Cambridge United (away)

Sat 16 Jul - 3pm Boston United (away)

Tue 19 Jul - 7.45pm Rangers (home)

Tue 2 Aug - 7.45pm Colchester United (away)

 

Between the Rangers and proposed Atletico Madrid game Town are expected to have a two game tour of Hungry.
