Ipswich 2012?

Ipswich Town Chief Executive Derek Bowden has announced that Portman Road will be available for use by the planners of the 2012 Olympics.

With the news coming out today that London will be hosting the worlds biggest sporting event in 7 years time, Town have been quick to point out that Town will make available to host Olympic events and training.

 

Derek: “That's certainly still the case, both for games and providing training facilities.

 

“It was a great honour to host a full England international in 2003 and that proved a real success and to be a part of the Olympic set-up would be a huge bonus for the Club and the people of Ipswich.”
