Preview: Leicester Vs Town

Team news and more ahead of Ipswich Town’s game against Leicester City at the Walkers stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Town manager is short on defenders with Jason De Vos out injured and Mark Fish back with Charlton to work on his fitness, leaving Town with just four fit defenders, all of which are in the squad so the back four will be: Richards, Naylor, Wilnis, Sito. Midfielder Darren Currie may also miss the game as his wife Emma is due to give birth and if the call comes he will be making his way to Essex.

Town manager Joe Royle: “Leicester are promotion outsiders at the moment.

“They lost 4-1 at Sheffield United but it was 1-1 with less than ten minutes to go at Bramall Lane.

“Then they bounced back at their place against Stoke and I am not at all surprised that they are emerging as a threat.”

Town Squad: Dean Bowditch, Darren Currie, Nicky Forster, Owen Garvan, Kevin Horlock, Jimmy Juan, Jim Magilton, Dean McDonald, Richard Naylor, Sam Parkin, Jaime Peters, Lewis Price, Matt Richards, Sito Castro, Shane Supple, Ian Westlake, Fabian Wilnis.

Leicester City boss Craig Levein is with out midfielders Momo Sylla and Stephen Hughes and defender Patrick Kisnorbo, while Gareth Williams and Dion Dublin are doubts. Foxes captain Danny Tiatto returns to the squad following injury and new signing Joe Hamill could be included in the Leicester squad after signing from Hearts.

Levein: “The signs are encouraging, but we need to pick up points again on Saturday.

“If we can pick up all three points then people will say that we have had a great start, but only last weekend they were saying that the pressure was on us.

“Ipswich are a good side. They finished third last season and I am sure Joe (Royle) will be looking to improve on that this year. It will be a real test for us.”
