Reserves Start With Win

Ipswich Town's reserve team got their season off to a good start with a 2-1 win against Portsmouth tonight.

Dean Bowditch staked his claim for a first team space by getting both the Town goals, one in each half.

The visitors opened the scoring after 23 minutes when Liam Horsted beat Town goalkeeper Andy Reynolds from 25-yards.

Bowditch brought Town level 5 minutes later when he was awarded a penalty after being taken down inside the box with the youngster converting the spot kick.

Bowditch scored Town's second just past the hour after some good work by Owen Garvan and Jaime Peters. 2-1 Town the final score.
