No Money From Bent Call

It has emerged today that Town will not receive any money from Charlton athletic following Darren Bent's call up into the England Squad.

It had been expected that Town would get something in the region of £500,000 if Bent had played for England against Denmark but it has emerged that Town will only get any money if Bent plays in a competitive England game.

Town manager Joe Royle: “An extra payment for Darren would only come if he plays in a competitive game for England. This game is not but it is a step closer.”

Town will also get some extra money if Bent ever leaves the Valley for a fee.
