Ipswich Town midfielder Jim Magilton has praised Town defender Richard Naylor, saying “Become as good as Richard Naylor and you will have achieved something in the game”.
The 28-year-old defender who has been at the club since he was a teenager has been converted from attack to defence via a career threatening knee injury.
Jim: “Become as good as Richard Naylor and you will have achieved something in the game, Richard just gets better and better, there is no one in our dressing room who I have greater respect for.
“He has come through adversity with a knee injury almost ending his career. And he has switched roles from a striker to a central defender.
“Richard has grown into that new role and is a very big player for the team. It has been phenomenal the way he has reached the position he is at today, and Richard is a fine example to every young player on our books.
“He never moans and just gets on with the job in hand. Everybody looks up to him and we could not have a better man at the heart of our defence.”
