Joe: Play-offs A Challenge

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has admitted it will be a big challenge to take Town the play-off this season despite finishing third last season.

Town are 10^th in the league after the opening 6 games, winning three of those, losing two and drawing one but the right results in two weeks and Town could be second in the table but Royle believes it will be difficult to stay there.

 

Royle: “We will have to do really well to make the top two. It will be a big challenge to make the play-offs but we will have a go. The good thing is that no team has got away in the Championship and we are still within touching distance of second place.

 

“We would have played a blinder to have gained promotion last season, this year it will be even harder.

 

“We have lost quality players and although youngsters offer you enthusiasm and energy they do not provide the consistency you need.”
