Currie Gutted At Missed Penalty

Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie has admitted to be being gutted after having his penalty kick against Sheffield united saved.

The 30-year-old midfielder had the chance to bring Town level against Sheffield United with a 55th minute penalty but Blades ‘keeper Paddy Kenny guessed the right way and stopped his spot kick.

Currie: “Any penalty that you miss is rubbish and any penalty you score is a good penalty. If the ‘keeper goes the other way it is a goal, but he has guessed the right way and saved it.

“I feel I hit it well enough and I got it on target. I knew where I was going to hit it and I would have beaten myself up more if I had changed my mind and missed it.

“I’m gutted about missing because that could have got us back in the game and we could have gone on and got at least a point.”
