Danny Debut Shock

Young Ipswich Town striker Danny Haynes has admitted his shock at making his Town debut against Leeds on Saturday.

The 17-year-old came on as a second half substitute for Dean Bowditch in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Leeds and he was shocked to be named on the bench.

 

Danny: “I couldn't believe it when the gaffer told me on the bus that I would be on the bench at Leeds.

 

“Then to go on was amazing. I was having trouble containing my excitement.

 

“The gaffer told me to go out and enjoy it and I certainly did that although I should have scored from Kevin Horlock's cross.

 

“It's been great to be involved with the first team and having had a taste of it, I'm determined to work hard and stay involved as much as possible.”
