Proudlock To Face Long Wait?

On-trial striker Adam Proudlock may not be able to sign for Town until the transfer window re-opens in January next year.
The 24-year-old striker is on trial with Town at the moment but due to some red tape he may not be able to sign for a new club until January despite being a free-agent, the problem has arisen because Adam left his previous club outside the transfer window.
A spokesperson for the Football league said: “This is the first season the transfer windows have been imposed at our level.
“This is a unique situation for the Football League and we are seeking clarification from the Football Association as to which options are available for the player.”
Town manager Joe Royle added: “You could say that the window has closed on Adam at the moment and we are aware there are problems with his registration, he is surrounded in a sea of red tape and there have been on-going discussions between the football authorities and the Club regarding the situation over the last day or two.
“We were hoping to play him in the reserves' on Wednesday night but have not received permission for that to happen so far.
“The Club is now looking at alternative methods of clearing the way forward and is in discussions with Adam and the PFA about the situation.
“It's frustrating for the player because he wants to get his career going again but whatever happens he will definitely remain with us for the two weeks.”
