Royle’s Plea To Fans

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has pleaded with Town fans not to get on the back of his players.

Royle: “I know our first-half display against Crewe last weekend was dire, but fortunately we came through with a result after an improved performance in the second 45 minutes.

 

“I also know our supporters don't pay good money to boo the team, but I would just ask them to be patient and remember we are in a transitional period right now.

 

“The supporters want consistency, as I do, but we have not yet had continuity in terms of team selection due to a few problems with injuries.

 

“Once we have the continuity I would expect the consistency to follow and, all things considered, I think we are in a great position to be just one point adrift of the play-offs.”
