Young Ipswich Town defender Gerard Nash hopes he isn’t much more than two weeks away from some form of match fitness following a knee injury.

The 19-year-old defender has been out for the best part of two years with major injuries but he has now returned to full training and he hopes to get some match practice in soon.

Gerard: “I've had four months of rehab and worked hard recently with a lot of running, it's been like pre-season for me over the last few weeks but now I can concentrate on the enjoyable side of the game.

“Hopefully I'll be back playing matches in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. I have not played that many games over the last two years and my main target at the moment is to play as much football as possible.”
