Westy Returns To Training

Ipswich Town midfielder Ian Westlake has started light training following an ankle injury he picked up in training last month.

Westy had been expected to be out until Christmas with the injury but it emerged yesterday he could be back at the end of next month and today its emerged Ian has started light training.

 

Town manager Joe Royle: “Ian started light training so he is a bit ahead of schedule, although he still has a protective brace on the ankle.

 

“In horse racing terms I suppose he's doing no more than a gentle gallop.

 

“He is still weeks away from being fit again, but we might have him back earlier than we thought.”
