On-loan Blackburn Rovers defender Jay McEveley is out for at least two months after sustaining medial ligament damage.

The defender pulled up just before Cardiff’s first goal in last nights 2-1 defeat for Town and he left Ninian Park on crutches, he is expected to be out for a minimum of two months.

Town physio Dave Williams: “Jay has had a scan but the swelling is still bad and he will need further investigation before we can be 100 per cent sure what the problem is, he is seeing a specialist on Wednesday and we will know more then but he has torn the medial ligament.

“What we can't tell at the moment is whether just a bit of it is torn or most of it. Also we need to find out if there is any other damage.

“Looking at it at the moment, Jay will be out for at least two months but it could be more depending on what the scans show up when the swelling has eased.”
