Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has defended his decision to play just one striker against Crystal Palace yesterday.
Town played most of yesterdays game against Palace with just Nicky Forster upfront, a move that drew criticism from Town fans after the 2-0 defeat.
Joe: “Palace had three strikers just sitting on the bench.
“We, on the other hand, have only got one fit, experienced front man in the squad and that's the difference between the clubs.
“We're trying different systems to get round the problem and at times I thought we played the better football, without ever looking like we might score.
“We tried to be as positive as we could and I picked five midfield players who are more than capable of scoring goals.”
