Ipswich Town midfielder Darren Currie says Town are disappointed to be out of the FA Cup but can take heart from their performance.

Town slipped out of the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Portsmouth earlier today, a single Dario Silva goal being the difference between the two sides.

 

Currie: “We are obviously disappointed to be out of the Cup but we can take a lot from our performance, you wouldn't have known that they were in the Premiership and we were in the Championship, there was nothing between the sides.

 

“The performance was another sign that we are heading in the right direction and you can see the confidence coming back into the side.

 

“Scott Barron did well again and Danny Haynes worked really hard up front and you can see the youngsters growing with every game.

 

“Portsmouth's quality only showed in the fact that they had two chances and took one of them and if we can add to our striking options and get someone in to convert our chances then there is no reason why we can't push up the table quickly.”
