Forster Avoids Knife

Ipswich Town striker Nicky Forster may now not need to have an operation to resolve his knee injury and could be playing again this month.

The 32-year-olds recovery has been progressing nicely and it has got to a point where Town’s physio team believe surgery will not be necessary and that Forster could play against Leeds later this month.    

 

Town physio Dave Williams: “Fozzie has had a scan and the specialist says there is no new evidence of a problem and is reluctant to operate at this stage, the knee is improving. It's certainly better than last week and as long as he keeps moving forward then surgery won't be necessary.

 

“He won't be involved at Southampton but Leeds at home at the end of the month is a possibility. It depends on how Fozzie's recovery progresses from here.

 

“We are guided by the specialist and he wants to give Fozzie every chance to recover without surgery. If he stops making progress though, then an operation obviously becomes more likely and that will mean a month out of the game.”
