Sympathy For Nigel

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has sympathy for his opposite number at Norwich City, Nigel Worthington.

Royle: “I know it's all a bit frantic outside and I feel for Nigel, I heard chants of 'Royle out' at Portman Road three or four weeks ago so I know how he feels. Every fan thinks their side should be top of the league. Look at Middlesbrough. They won at Sunderland in midweek and Steve McLaren was the best in the business and on Saturday they lose and the fans want him out again.

“It's part and parcel of football these days and I'm sure this club doesn't listen to that kind of thing. It's a lovely club, I have got a lot of time and a lot of respect for his club.”
