In this weeks issue of The League Paper read guest column by Ipswich striker Alan Lee.

Town's new Striker explains why he chose to join the Tractor Boys, how he is settling in and what the teams goals are for the rest of the season.

 

"You always wonder how you are going to settle in when you move to a new club, but I've certainly landed on my feet at Ipswich.

 

"I already feel like I have been here for ages. I bought a house in Ipswich, the football has been brilliant and it's a very friendly club with a nice set of lads, including loads of Irish lads.

 

"It helps that our manager Joe Royle was a striker in his playing days ­ he understands what I'm going through on the pitch. He's been brilliant to me, he's an absolute gent and loves the game.

 

"I have never been at a club where everyone from top to bottom speaks so highly of the manager.

 

"It's going to be a big ask for us to get into the play-offs, but there is nearly three months of the season left and I don't see why we can't have a run at it.

 

"There are so many teams saying they have got a small chance, so it's going to be very difficult and every game is going to be a battle, but we can be positive because we are in a run of good form.

 

"Even if it doesn't happen, then we need to send a message out for next season that we mean business.

 

"Our win in the derby at Norwich last weekend showed that we have got the right spirit and our match-winner Danny Haynes typified that. There was a lot of discussion about the winning goal as to whether it went in off Danny's arm or Gary Doherty's boot, but Danny deserved to score it because he went in bravely and it certainly wasn't hand to ball."
